A0–A3 Scanning Guide: Artwork and Plans

Prepare your originals and choose your digital output

Planning to digitise drawings, blueprints, posters or artwork? This guide explains what information to provide before arranging large-format scanning in London.

Paper sizes and project requirements

Describe the size of each original

Tell us whether your items are A0, A1, A2, A3 or another size. For mixed sizes, give an approximate count for each. We scan originals from A4 up to A0.

Choose a file format

PDF is useful for viewing and sharing documents; JPEG is useful for individual images. Tell us how you plan to use the files, and discuss resolution and any other format requirements before scanning.

Describe the condition and material

Let us know about folds, tears, fragile paper, mounted artwork or unusual thickness. Suitability and handling need to be discussed before originals are sent.

Prepare a quote request

  • Number and sizes of originals
  • Colour, greyscale or black-and-white requirements
  • Preferred output format and file naming
  • Deadline and collection or delivery requirements
